Diamond of the Week (11/08/2013)

The Diamond of the Week award goes to:

Tia Mowry-Hardrict

Tia Mowry-Hardrict is a prime example of how to maintain success as an adult after being a kid star. I am sooo glad that she didn’t fall into the pit of failure, drugs, and alcohol like many well-known child actors have experienced. She, along with her twin sister Tamara Mowry, had massive success with their hit show Sister Sister, back in the day when they were teenagers. During and after the show, they’ve starred in several made-for-TV movies and they even made it a priority to go to college and get their college degrees. Although both girls are smart and successful, Tia has successfully shown the world that she has her own identity and that she’s not just Tamara’s twin sister or just known as the twin sister that play on the show, Sister Sister.

After many seasons of playing the character Melanie on the hit show, The Game, she stepped out on faith and decided to pursue other interests. The end result:  she snagged a role in the hit movie, Baggage Claim, which starred Paula Patton, Jill Scott, and Boris Kodjoe. She played the role of a jealous girlfriend who’s COMPLETELY lost her mind and it was awesome to see her branch off to the big screen in a role that was different from any other role that she’s had.

Presently, she has landed her own show on the network, Nick at Nite. The show is titled, Instant Mom, which is appropriate considering that Tia is a wife and a mother in real life. Due to my hectic schedule, I haven’t had the chance to check out the show as of yet but I definitely plan on watching it. It seems like everything that Tia touches turns to gold so I’m pretty sure that this show will be a major hit. I wish her much success for many years to come.
